Community Experience

2006-2007
• Member of Trash Talk—recycling club at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Through constructive conversations, movie screenings, and campus wide events, Trash Talk focuses on and contests the idea of waste in our society, whether environmental or social.
2005-2006
• Member of Super Pride Studio—a community-based Maryland Institute College of Art studio art course. In collaboration with the Men’s Center, an under-funded nonprofit in the area, the class challenges its students to address social, environmental, and political issues in the distressed community of East Baltimore.
2005
• Event organizer and poster designer for The Madeira Project—a group of Maryland Institute College of Art students that worked in collaboration with the community to transform two vacant lots in East Baltimore into agriculturally productive gardens and recreational community spaces.
